what is a good substitute for palm sugar.....we dont have stores that carry that??? help ..

Thanks for the respond :) iloveJesus but is that sugar or MSG. I don't mind if it's MSG I use it all the time and the Thai,Chines, Japanese and other Asian countries has been using it for years.

@iloveJesus420 I don't agree with your opinion that "100% athentic Asian cuisine" can only be made with MSG. I have been handed down countless Korean, Indonesian and Chinese recipes from my mom and my mother-in-law that has no MSG involved whatsoever. And I can vouch for their authencity as I have lived and traveled to these destinations and tasted the food there.

@schnoopybeagle You can omit it which is why it was probably not mentioned. If you want 100% authentic Asian cuisine, that involves MSG. It's only being omitted for a western audience in mind.

@udomsimon1 Palm sugar actually isn't used that much of the time with Thai street vendors anymore. It's harder to manage than the more common and cheap white kind so people just use that. If you do want to spend a little more for an extra flavour, palm sugar is what was done in the olden days.

I don't care how authentic and tasty this pad thai may be. Using that much MSG without mentioning it as part of the recipe is just shameless.

if MSG was used, then it has to be mentioned, I don't like that this fact was hidden on the captions while it was actually used. MSG is very bad for health. Caution people.

What is that one tea spoon of what stuff after the fish sauce :) ? MSG? And this a Thai Restaurant, and no Tamarind juice or Palm sugar. Hey I'm not bad mouthing the show, I'm just wondering :) If it taste good then cook it like that :) I miss Thai girls

tamarind sauce is missing indeed but it may be good. phad thai is oily and sweet but so good ;-)

How come there is no Tamarind paste added? Every Pad Thai recipe I've seen written down specifies Tamarind, but I hardly see any real people using it in videos.
